Thank you for choosing D&D Autoworks for your vehicles’ service, maintenance and repair.

In the summer you will encounter a lot of challenges. This could include construction, an increase of traffic, and also animals and wildlife crossing the road. But one thing to remember is the weather conditions you might be driving into. Even before you leave your home, make sure to check the weather so you are aware of what you might be driving into. Since weather can change quickly, being aware will help you to stay calm when on the road. It is also important to find a local radio station, so you can hear weather updates as you drive as well.

One of the most common things you will drive in is rain. This can range from light sprinkles to heavy downpours. No matter what it is, always make sure to turn the windshield wipers on. Doing so will help the rain to be removed from the windshield quickly. This will help you to see better and stay safe on the road. The heavier it rains, the faster the windshield wipers should be at. If it is raining so hard that visibility is near impossible, pull off somewhere and wait until the rain and storm has passed. Along with having the windshield wipers on, make sure to have the headlights on as well. That way those around you will see you when driving.

Remember to slow down when the weather becomes less than ideal. Driving at a slower speed and one you are comfortable at will improve safety as well. If the speed is too fast and the roads are wet, the vehicle may start to hydroplane. This will result in poor handling and control of the vehicle. It also increase the risk of an accident. If there has been an extreme amount of rain in a short time, you may encounter flooded roads. The best thing to do is turn around and avoiding them.
