Air Conditioner Maintenance for your Vehicle

by | Jun 7, 2019 | Air conditioner, Belts and Hoses, Car care, General Car Maintenance

This summer you will want your vehicle to be comfortable and cool. Make sure that your vehicle is ready to drive during the hot summer months. One of the most important things to check is the air conditioning system for the vehicle. You will want to make sure this is at top operating performance so you can have a comfortable ride. On hot sunny days, you will need the air conditioner in order to cool down the interior of your vehicle. This will also make it more enjoyable for your passengers. If you are not sure when regular maintenance should be done for the vehicle, always make sure to contact us. This can include fluid changes, tire rotations, and overall bumper to bumper inspection.

Summer and the Air Conditioner

If you notice the air conditioner starting to fail, make sure to contact us. The air may not be cold at all, or it may have cold and warm air intervals happening. We will check the air conditioner, refrigerant, and hoses of the vehicle. If there is a leak in the system you will notice it does not perform as well as it otherwise should. Also make sure each fan speed is working properly for the vehicle.

Coolant Levels

The coolant levels should also be inspected for your vehicle. If the coolant is low, then there is an increased chance your vehicle could overheat. This is especially true if you drive in traffic that is slow or stop and go. This requires the vehicle to still operate fast, without getting the proper airflow. Make sure to turn off the air conditioner if you start to notice that your vehicle is starting to overheat. If the gauge gets into the red area, make sure that you pull over when it is safe to do so. That way you can help prevent further issues to the engine of your vehicle.
