InspectionEven the smallest of checks and inspections can help you get the most out of your car. If you abide by these maintenance measures at least every six months then you can potentially avoid all and any major malfunctions to your car.

As a result, this will prevent you from spending hefty amounts on major maintenance and repairs. Some of the items that you will read about may need checks more often than others. Make sure to contact us, and we can inspect the vehicle for you.

Tire Inspection

Oftentimes, car owners will neglect the tires thinking they are resilient items of rubber that not need special attention. However, this is far from the truth. Rubber is very responsive to environmental factors, such as high heat. High temperatures due to the weather and mechanical wear can impact the treads of the tire.

The treads are the bulging design on top of the tires which contributes to the car’s road grip. Therefore, inspection of the tires is very important as it keeps you from coming across an accident. In between the tires you will find wear indicators that can determine whether it is time you need to replace the tires.

If you tire does not have these indicators, you can also use a coin as a tool to check whether the treads are in functional condition or not. Along with tread conditions, you should also make sure that your tires are properly inflated. This will include checking the tire pressure and making sure it is at an optimum PSI.

Brake Pads

Your brake pads are integral components that press upon your wheel to make them stop. A brake pad is metallic plate with 12 millimeters of pad material attached to it. This pad material is usually carbon fiber or synthetic in nature. Overtime of extensive usage, the pad material undergoes wear, and with that, comes noticeable change in its thickness.

If the pad material gets down to about 3 millimeters, then you should be concerned and looking to replace it with a new one. If your brake pad is only 1 to 2 mm in thickness, then this is alarming for your car and you want to replace them instantly. Getting access to your brake pads will require you to remove your tire.

Shock Absorb Parts

Removing the tire also exposes you to the car’s shock absorber. This component of the car keeps the road stress away from your wheels and also saves your car from other risks. Thus, it is important that you inspect any visible damage or oil leakage from the shock absorber.

As you can see, the bottom part of your vehicle is essential as it contributes to the car’s suspension, and braking. These two elements are what keep passengers safe inside of a car. Thus, you should not take these inspection measures lightly.
