Odd Noises from the Windshield Wipers

Any odd noises you hear from the windshield wipers should always be taken seriously. If they are ignored, it will only result in further issues in the long run. If there are any noises or issues from the wipers, make sure to contact us. We can inspect the wipers and the arms to ensure all the parts are working as they should be. Any issues can quickly be repaired so you can have a safe vehicle again. Make sure that regular maintenance is followed in order to keep all the parts of the vehicle working efficiently.

One odd noise you might notice from the wipers is a vibration or chatter noise. This will mean the wiper is not properly positioned when they are operating. If they are not correctly adjusted, then they will not be able to properly remove rain, road grime, or dust. The arm of the wiper should be checked to make sure it is not bent or damaged. If there is an issue, we can inspect and repair it.

Also be aware of a screech noise that the wipers might make. This will mean the metal is now in direct contact with the windshield. This can lead to the windshield becoming damaged and scratched. If the wipers are worn down or have rips on the blades, make sure to replace them as soon as possible. If you are not sure what the correct wipers are, check the owner’s manual or contact us. If there are issues with having the wipers replaced, contact us for an appointment.

Remember to check the rear wiper if your vehicle is equipped with one. This will not be used as often as the windshield wipers, but should be inspected. Make sure that it is in the best condition possible. If the rubber is brittle or has worn, you will want to have it replaced as soon as possible.
