Make sure to inspect the Tires for your Vehicle

Before traveling on your summer vacation, make sure you take the time to inspect the tires on the vehicle. With proper tires, you can increase the chance of reaching your destination safely. You can also reduce the chance of a costly repair bill if there is an unexpected breakdown that could have been prevented. The tires are the only part that will have direct contact between the surface of the road and your vehicle. This will help the vehicle travel efficiently and at top performance. If you notice an issue with the vehicle, like how it handles, make sure to bring it in as soon as you can so we can inspect it. Also make sure that the mileage is what it typically should be. If you notice poor mileage, it is an indication of an issue with your vehicle.

Check the Air Pressure regularly

To help keep the tires in the best condition possible, make sure to check the air pressure. This is important because the tires will then rotate properly. If the tires are under inflated it can cause poor fuel efficiency. It can also increase the chance of the tire blowing out. If the tire is over inflated it will have less contact with the surface of the road. This can make for a rougher and less comfortable ride when you travel. Over inflated tires can also have the increased chance of picking up sharp objects or debris that could be on the surface of the road. If you are unsure of the air pressure in the tires, make sure to consult the vehicle’s owner manual. This can alert you to the correct amount. You can also bring the vehicle in and we can inspect the tires for you.

The Tread should be inspected

When inspecting the tires, also make sure to inspect the tread. The tread is what helps to grip the surface of the road when you drive. Without the proper amount of tread, the vehicle may feel like it slips or slides when you travel. This can also cause the vehicle to hydroplane when you drive if the road is wet. If there is a lack of tread, make sure to bring the vehicle in. We can inspect it to see if the tires need to be rotated or aligned. If there is a sign of an issue, we can bring it to your attention. This can help keep the tires lasting as long as possible when you drive.

Check the condition of the Tires

Another way to keep the tires at top efficiency is to check the condition of them. This includes looking for any puncture marks or cracks that they might have. If you notice anything, it is always best to bring them in so we can inspect them. This can help reduce the chance of air leaking out of them. It will then decrease the possibility of a flat tire when you least expect it. This can help improve the life of the tires when you drive.
