Clean the Wipers

When you drive your vehicle in the spring and summer, you will want to make sure the windshield wipers are working properly. If there are streaks or smear marks, make sure to clean the wipers. You can take warm soapy water and make sure that the wiper blades are clean. This will remove any dirt or road grime that may be on the windshield wipers. When you replace the windshield wipers, make sure to get the correct size your vehicle needs. You can look in the vehicle owner’s manual to see what type of wipers are needed for your vehicle. We can also advise you on the wipers that are best for it as well. Remember that if your vehicle comes with a rear wiper, to have that inspected and changed as well.

Noticing Issues

As the wipers start to deteriorate, you may notice that the wipers are starting to cause smear and smudge marks to the windshield. This can cause the dirt and road grime to impair your visibility when you are driving down the road. You will want to be able to see clearly out of the windshield and side windows as well. If you notice a crack or divot in the windshield, make sure to have it repaired as soon as possible. Doing so will help make sure that there is not damage that obstructs your vision.

Wiper Damage

Another sign of wiper damage is if you start hearing them vibrate or chatter against the windshield. This may mean the wiper arm is damaged as well. The best thing to do is bring the vehicle in so we can inspect it for you. If there is damage, we can replace it so you have properly working windshield wipers again when you drive all year long.
