Keeping the Tires in Proper Condition

The tires are a part of the vehicle that can be often overlooked until it is needed. You will want to make sure that you have the tires inspected on a regular basis. Not only is it a safety issue, but it can be a comfort issue as well. If the tires are uneven, in air pressure, it can result in an uneven ride as well. The vehicle might start to pull in one direction or the other as you drive. Sometimes this occurs when you apply the brakes. Other times the pulling can be when you are turning a corner or just how the vehicle handles as it goes down the road.

Tire Pressure

Tires with the proper air pressure will rotate as evenly as possible. Tires that are over inflated have an increased chance to pick up sharp objects that might be on the surface of the road. If a tire is under inflated, it could blow out when driving. Check the tires after the vehicle has sat for quite a few minutes. This also allows the tires a chance to cool down so they do not give a false reading when you check the air pressure. You will also want to check the spare tire on occasion and check the air pressure of that as well.

Rotations

The tires will also need to be rotated regularly. Doing so will help improve the longevity of them as well. Rotating the tires can arrange it so other parts of the tire wear down, so the whole tire is used as much as possible. This will also help with the vehicle handling when you drive. If you the vehicle handling poorly, it could be doing some damage to the tires. It will also have extra strain and stress on them as well when you drive. Bring the vehicle in for regular maintenance so we can check the tires fully for you.
