Caring for your Tires Properly

The tires are important because they are the only part that will make direct contact with the surface of the road. Without proper tires, your vehicle will have issues and be difficult to steer and handle. If you are not sure what the tires should look like, make sure to schedule an appointment. We can inspect the tires on your vehicle, as well as other parts.

The most important thing that you can do for the tires is to make sure that there is the proper amount of air pressure in them. Correct air pressure is important because it will allow the tires to rotate properly. If the tires are under inflated then they are at a greater risk to blow out. Tires that are over inflated can have a greater risk to pick up sharp objects that may be on the surface of the road. The air pressure should be the amount that is indicated in the vehicle owner’s manual. It can also be found on the inside of the driver’s door. You can bring the vehicle in and we can inspect the air pressure for you in each tire.

The tires should also be aligned. Having the tires properly aligned and balanced means the tire will have a longer road life and be safer for you to drive on. Improperly aligned tires can cause undo wear and tear on the tire, the rim, the brakes, and even the suspension system on the car. If you notice that the tires are wearing unevenly, an alignment could improve the longevity of them. It will also improve the steering of the vehicle when you drive.

Rotating the tires should be another maintenance task that is not ignored. By rotating the tires, they will wear evenly as you drive. This can ensure that each tire will wear as evenly as possible. If you notice any issue with your tires, it is important to bring it in as soon as possible so we can inspect the tires. Having proper tires in good condition can help you be safe and comfortable on the road. Also remember to bring your vehicle in anytime you notice something out of the norm with your vehicle. By fixing an issue at the first sign, you can help to save time, money, and stress in the long run.
